Just a
"little" perspective - either Kim really is tiny, or Spider really
is this big! (Note Spider is just 2.5 in this pic!) At
some point Kim is going to be able to walk under her!

El Dorado -
6/26 - 6/28/10 -
Brookside SAHJA show and Medal Finals - Julie and Eldo REPEAT their
Reserve in the mini-medal finals!!! Against 34 entries!!!
Julie in the stirrups again, and they picked up a 1st
in 3' hunters and some other nice ribbons during the show.
Watch out for them at Watsonville (and watch out for them on the
flat.... Eldo, what are you thinking?!) Oh yeah, this was Eldo
and Julie's first show of the season!
4/25 -4/26/09 -
Leone's SAHJA Medal Finals - Congrats to Julie and El
Dorado!! Julie qualified for the mini medal finals at
2'6". She rode Eldo, Kim's lovely young TB. They were in
the lead with scores in the 80's after rounds one and two. A
bobble in the work off during the simple changes cost them the lead,
but they still pulled reserve champion!!!!! Competing against
the warmbloods, Eldo's classic hunter style and good clean rides by
Julie almost won them the whole thing! There were over 30
competitors in the mini medal! Way to go! Kayla and Ty
also competed in both the mini and 3' medal, and while her horse did
well the first day, during the medals he decided he wasn't fond of
the arena.
Spider "Along Came a
Spider" -
June 2010 - Winner
of Long Stirrup Champion at HNR Breast Cancer Show -
with Brittany in stirrups Brittany has been doing some
damage in equitation on the flat! She's won her last four flat
equitation classes at 3 shows in both Jr./Am and long stirrup.
Kim's predications of Spider's prowess in eq are coming to fruition
(Brittany's eq princess style doesn't hurt either!) Her over
fences classes are going well with middle placings so far
(consistant lead changes would help!)
These two were super stars at
the cross country trip at Eventful Acres. Spider jumped some
bigger stuff, 2'9" to 3' with spreads, double banks, one stride
banks, water, roll tops, benches, you name it! She rode out by
herself or in groups, was pleasant to handle all weekend!
They are debuting in the rated
shows at Wine Country Classic!
Mudd "My Name is
Mudd" -
6/26 -6/28/10 -
Brookside SAHJA show and Medal Finals - off to a rough
start during the show portion of the weekend, luckily Lindsey and
Mudd are already qualified, but this is Mudd first season of
showing, and he's only being doing 2'6" for a month or two! On
the second day of showing they had some lovely rounds at 2'6" but
minor mistakes here and there are all it takes to loose against 27
horses! Many of whom are on the rated circuit regularly!
Go Mudd!
6/21/10 - Starr
Vaughn SAHJA show - Mudd and Lindsey were clicking on
all cylinders at this show! Five first places and one of our
greenie TB's and his new owner are coming along
wonderfully!
Crystal (needs a
show name Crystal!) -
6/26 - 6/28/10 -
Brookside SAHJA show and Medal Finals - Michael and
his fabulous, medium (maybe) pony put in some good early classes
(including an oddball class the second morning, where the judge
judged them the same way two times... bystanders were scratching
their heads wondering if she forgot to have them change direction,
but then they changed direction too!) but the heat is taking their
toll on both boy and pony... the jumps are adorable, the pony has
perfect form and is making the strides... but ohhhh! those pesky
lead changes! Stay tuned to see if the 2 round format of the
Medal final day is better on this young duo!
Puzzle "Puzzled"
-
May/June SAHJA shows
- Puzzle has a limited show schedule this year due to
a new (human) baby brother! Mom Merrin, is juggling Puzzle's
many pleasure triumphs and motherhood! Puzzle is pretty hard
to beat at the local level in pleasure!
Booma "Boomerrang" -
One of our newest students and
boarders, Christina is returning to riding as an adult. She
bought Booma last year, a Dutch warmblood cross with an adoreable
boomerrang shaped star. This spring after a few issues she
came to train and ride full time with Kim and the two have been
superstars! They went to their first two shows in June, one at
Starr Vaughn and one at Nelson Ranch. They are still working
out the details about who is in charge, but have put in some solid
rounds and are coming along!
Tie "Tie One On"
-
Kayla's 'humorous' TB gelding
has had the looong winter this year mostly off. She just
started jumping again and are aiming for Watsonville in
July!
Jackson "needs a
show name Jackson" -
Christine and the love of her
life have had thier ups and downs, but seem to be working things out
this year. Jackson has given her some of the nicest rounds at
2'6" in his career, his lead changes are great and she's won a
couple good ribbons on him. He may be making his rated debut
at Wine Country Classic!
Godiva
-
Our favorite dressage rider's
foray into the hunter jumper world has been a blast! Tracy and
her broodmare have had some fun doing some small stuff. Godiva
is a trooper and a fancy looking little mare, Tracy just can't wait
for Darby, her Hanoverian/Godiva cross to come of age. If
she's as pretty as mom they should be kicking butt in no
time! Did I mention this former show hunter turned
broodmare for a dressage mom also does cross country and
trails? What a find!
